Qualifications
Required
Responsible and dedicated individual
High school diploma
Valid driver's license
Reliable car, with proof of insurance and registration
Experience working with the elderly (one year minimum)
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to problem solve quickly
Preferred, but not required
Current, and valid, caregiver certification
Current, and valid, first aid and CPR certification
Responsibilities
Assist with walking and light exercise
Plan and prepare meals, followed by clean-up
Monitor food expiration dates, make future meals
Make beds and change linens
Light housekeeping (e.g., dusting, vacuuming)
Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming
Laundry and ironing
Take out garbage
Run errands (pickup prescriptions, dry cleaning)
Engage in physical and mental exercises (e.g., games, memory books)
Escort to appointments (hair salon, physical therapy)
Escort to religious services or events
Maintain calendar and organize mail
Companionship
Monitor client medications and update health charts
Document and report any changes in client health status
Ensure highest client safety and well-being
